Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly acknowledged that he was diagnosed with early-stage Prostate Cancer, confirming that he has already undergone treatment and is now in “excellent” health.
The 76-year-old leader disclosed on Friday that the cancer was detected following surgery in late 2024 for an enlarged prostate. During post-operative monitoring, doctors identified a small tumor measuring less than one centimeter. Medical examinations confirmed that it was at a very early stage and had not spread to other parts of the body.
Netanyahu said physicians presented him with two options: to treat the tumor immediately or to continue living with it under observation. He chose to proceed with treatment, stating that he prefers to address potential risks proactively—both in national leadership and in his personal life.
According to the Prime Minister, the treatment was successfully completed in Jerusalem, and there are no remaining signs of the tumor. He added that he has remained under regular medical supervision since the initial surgery.
Netanyahu also revealed that he deliberately delayed publishing his annual health report. The decision came during the height of tensions surrounding the Iran–Israel conflict, as he sought to prevent what he described as potential “propaganda” from Iran regarding his health condition.
Now that the situation has moved into an indefinite ceasefire phase, he has made the information public alongside his latest health report. The disclosure has drawn attention both domestically and internationally, given Netanyahu’s central role in Israel’s political and security landscape.
