ZURICH, August 12, 2026: Tennis legend Roger Federer has slipped out of the billionaire club after shares of Swiss sportswear company On Holding plunged nearly 19 percent in a single trading session.
According to Forbes estimates, Federer’s net worth fell to around $952.4 million, down by at least $52 million as the company’s shares tumbled on Tuesday. The decline is equivalent to roughly Tk 640 crore.
The drop does not represent a direct loss of cash from Federer’s bank accounts. Rather, his estimated wealth declined because the market value of his stake in On Holding fell.
The company reported second-quarter net sales of 850.4 million Swiss francs, or about $1.04 billion, up 13 percent from the same period last year. However, the figure fell short of analysts’ expectations of 878.4 million Swiss francs, triggering the sharp sell-off in its shares.
Despite missing sales expectations, On Holding delivered a significant improvement in profitability. The company posted net income of 105 million Swiss francs ($129.4 million) in the quarter, compared with a loss of 40.9 million francs ($50.4 million) a year earlier. Its gross profit margin also increased from 61.5 percent to 65.4 percent.
Federer’s wealth is closely linked to On Holding. Forbes estimates that the 20-time Grand Slam champion owns roughly 2.5 percent of the company. His investment played a major role in pushing his fortune above $1 billion in 2025.
Federer became involved with On in 2019 as a co-owner and has maintained a close partnership with the company’s founders. Beyond his investment, he has also contributed to product development and the brand’s strategy.
The former world No. 1 has built a substantial fortune through prize money, endorsements, sponsorships and business investments. Over his 24-year tennis career, Federer earned approximately $131 million in prize money and secured 20 Grand Slam titles. He retired from professional tennis in 2022.
Federer’s endorsement portfolio has included major brands such as Uniqlo, helping him maintain his commercial appeal even after retirement.
With an estimated fortune of $952.4 million, Federer is now only $47.6 million short of the billionaire mark. If On Holding’s share price recovers, his estimated net worth could once again cross the $1 billion threshold.
