The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 33 platoons across industrial areas in Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj amid ongoing labour unrest, aiming to maintain law and order and prevent potential security incidents.

The BGB confirmed the deployment in a statement issued on Sunday morning (November 8).

The deployed personnel are performing security duties in Savar, Ashulia and Mirpur in Dhaka; Shibu Market, Jalkuri, BSCIC Industrial Estate, Chashara, Kanchpur and Shimrail in Narayanganj; and Chandra, Pallibidyut, Mouchak, Ambag, Kashimpur, Naojor, Bhogra Bypass, Gacha and Salna in Gazipur.

The BGB headquarters is also monitoring field operations and live footage round the clock through its technology-based monitoring cell, the statement said.

Deployed personnel remain on alert while maintaining coordination with local administrations and police.
The BGB said its deployment and surveillance operations would continue to ensure a safe and stable working environment in industrial zones, protect public life and property, and maintain overall security.
