Huawei has formally relaunched its consumer device business in Bangladesh, unveiling 13 new products and announcing a nationwide distribution partnership as the Chinese technology giant seeks to regain ground in one of South Asia’s fastest-growing consumer electronics markets.

The company made the announcement at its “Now Is Your Spark” product launch event in Dhaka on June 8, where it showcased a broad portfolio of smartphones, foldable devices, tablets, smartwatches and wireless audio products. The move marks Huawei’s most significant push into Bangladesh’s consumer technology segment in several years and signals a renewed effort to strengthen its presence beyond telecommunications infrastructure and enterprise solutions.

The launch comes after a period of limited activity in Huawei’s consumer device business in Bangladesh. Company officials said consumers will now have access to Huawei products through official sales channels offering warranty coverage, genuine spare parts and dedicated after-sales services.

Speaking at the event, Eric Pang, Country Head of Huawei Bangladesh Device Office, said the company intends to deliver a more connected technology experience to Bangladeshi consumers.

“Innovation has always been at the heart of Huawei,” Pang said during the launch event at Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd. in Gulshan, Dhaka. “Our goal is to empower consumers with devices that seamlessly enhance productivity, creativity, health and everyday living.”

The company introduced several flagship products, including the Huawei Mate 80 Pro smartphone, Mate X7 foldable handset, MatePad 11.5 tablet, Watch Fit 5 Series smartwatches and FreeClip 2 wireless earbuds. Huawei executives said the strategy extends beyond individual devices and focuses on creating an integrated ecosystem in which smartphones, tablets, wearables and audio products work together seamlessly.

A key element of the relaunch is Huawei’s partnership with DX Group, one of Bangladesh’s largest technology distribution companies. Huawei announced that DX Group will serve as its national distributor, helping expand retail availability and after-sales support across the country.

“Huawei is globally recognised for innovation and quality. We are excited to work together to make these products available to consumers nationwide,” said Dewan Kanon, founder and chief executive officer of DX Group, during the launch event.

The partnership reflects Huawei’s effort to rebuild its retail footprint in Bangladesh through a stronger distribution network. DX Group has previously worked with a number of international technology brands and has expanded its presence in Bangladesh’s consumer electronics sector over the past decade.

Huawei’s return to Bangladesh’s consumer market comes at a time when smartphone adoption and demand for connected devices continue to rise across the country. Bangladesh has emerged as one of the fastest-growing digital economies in South Asia, supported by increasing internet penetration, a young consumer base and growing demand for smart devices used in education, entertainment, business and digital payments.

Industry observers say Huawei’s renewed focus on consumer products represents an attempt to re-establish a market position that weakened after the company faced global challenges related to U.S. sanctions and restrictions on access to Google Mobile Services. Those challenges significantly affected Huawei’s smartphone business worldwide and contributed to a decline in its market share in Bangladesh during the early 2020s.

Despite those setbacks, Huawei has continued investing heavily in its proprietary software ecosystem, including HarmonyOS, cloud services and AI-driven technologies. The company has increasingly emphasized integrated experiences across smartphones, tablets, wearables and smart accessories as a key differentiator in global markets.

At the Dhaka event, Huawei also highlighted how its latest products are designed to work together as part of a unified ecosystem, enabling users to share files, synchronize data and connect devices more efficiently. Company officials said this ecosystem approach will be central to Huawei’s strategy in Bangladesh going forward.

The launch event attracted journalists, technology influencers, content creators, business partners and industry stakeholders, who were given hands-on access to the newly unveiled products. Huawei described the gathering as the beginning of a new phase for the company’s consumer business in Bangladesh.

With the relaunch, Huawei is betting that its premium hardware, expanding software ecosystem and strengthened distribution network can help it compete in Bangladesh’s increasingly crowded smartphone and smart-device market, where global brands continue to vie for a growing base of tech-savvy consumers.
