One picture, nine innocent faces. Achhiya, Tayeba, Sayma, Moyna Akhter, Fahima, Ramisha, Dola, Ayesha, and Tahati—these are not merely names or black-and-white photographs; they were blooming flowers of our society.
At an age when they should have been chasing big dreams with pure joy, their lives were brutally cut short by unspeakable cruelty, sexual violence, and murder. The tragic fates of these helpless children leave our society, state, and collective human conscience standing at a deeply troubling crossroads.
In any civilized society, the safety of children should be absolute and inviolable.
At an age when these little ones should have been holding books, playing, and enjoying their childhood, they fell prey to the monstrous lust and violence of criminals. This is not just an isolated series of crimes; it is a deep, bleeding scar on the face of humanity.
“Ensuring the protection of every single child is a fundamental responsibility of the state. When innocent lives are repeatedly snatched away in such a manner, it exposes a critical breakdown in our social morality and security infrastructure.
It forces us to ask: where do our justice system and social resistance stand today? While every such horrific incident triggers nationwide outrage, protests, and demands for justice, public anger inevitably fades over time.
Does the culture of delayed justice, legal loopholes, and the lack of exemplary punishment not embolden these criminals further? If this culture of impunity persists, what kind of society are we leaving behind for the next generation?
We cannot afford to let any more mothers’ laps be left empty.
We refuse to see the faces of more innocent children displayed on screens or walls as victims of brutality. A swift, impartial, and rigorous investigation must be ensured for the brutal murders of Achhiya, Sayma, Fahima, and all the others. No political or social influence should be allowed to obstruct the path of justice.
We urgently appeal to the law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, and conscious citizens across the country: fast-track these cases through speedy trial tribunals and ensure the absolute maximum punishment for the perpetrators.
To honor the souls of these innocent children and to build a safe, livable world for our youth, we must unite beyond all divisions and declare in one voice: No more brutality. We demand immediate, exemplary justice for every single child.
