Paris Saint-Germain F.C. booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final after holding FC Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of their semifinal clash at Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
The French champions advanced to the final with a 6-5 aggregate victory over the German giants.
PSG made a dream start to the match, taking the lead in just the third minute through Ousmane Dembele. The forward finished clinically from a low cross delivered by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following a rapid counterattack. The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner scored his eighth goal of the Champions League campaign.
Bayern responded with several attacking moves throughout the first half. Michael Olise came close with a powerful left-footed effort that narrowly sailed over the crossbar, while Jamal Musiala also created a dangerous chance before halftime. However, PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov produced a series of important saves to preserve his side’s advantage.
The home side continued to push after the break, but Safonov remained solid under pressure, denying several Bayern attempts, including a low drive from Josip Stanisic.
Harry Kane finally gave Bayern hope in stoppage time when he controlled a pass from Alphonso Davies and fired a superb left-footed shot into the net in the fourth minute of added time.
Despite the late equalizer, Bayern could not find another goal, and PSG celebrated reaching the Champions League final for the second consecutive season.
The French club will now face Arsenal F.C. in the final on May 30 at Puskás Aréna, where the English side will play in their first Champions League final in 20 years.
