Late Goal Secures Real Madrid Victory Over Celta Vigo

Federico Valverde’s stoppage-time strike seals 2–1 win as Real Madrid bounce back after consecutive La Liga defeats.

Real Madrid secured a dramatic late victory against Celta Vigo, winning 2–1 in a La Liga match on Friday night.

Playing away from home, Real Madrid took an early lead through midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni. However, Celta Vigo quickly responded before halftime when striker Borja Iglesias scored the equalizer.

The second half remained tense, with both sides pushing for the winner. Celta Vigo nearly went ahead late in the game when substitute Iago Aspas struck the post shortly after coming on.

Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, Real Madrid found the decisive goal deep into stoppage time. In the fourth minute of added time, midfielder Federico Valverde fired a shot that deflected off a defender and beat the goalkeeper, sealing a crucial victory for the visitors.

The win lifts Real Madrid to second place in the league table with 63 points from 27 matches, including 20 wins and three draws. League leaders FC Barcelona remain one point ahead with 64 points, having played one match fewer.
Celta Vigo currently sit sixth in the standings with 40 points from 27 games.
