Pakistan Sees Massive Rally in Bajaur Protesting Lawlessness and Targeted Killings Bajaur

July 14 — Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in Pakistan’s Bajaur district on Sunday, demanding an end to growing lawlessness and a string of targeted killings that have shaken local communities. The protest, named Bajaur Aman Pasoon (Peace March), saw residents united across tribal, political, and civil lines, rallying along the main Khar-Nawagai Road.
The killing of peace activist Maulana Khan Zeb and a police officer earlier this week was a flashpoint, triggering widespread anger and calls for justice. Protesters waved white flags and held portraits of slain community leaders, calling for immediate government action to restore peace.
With political representatives from multiple parties in attendance, speakers condemned the deteriorating security conditions and demanded accountability from both provincial and federal authorities. The rally organizers warned that future demonstrations could be staged in Islamabad if their demands are ignored.
Shops and public transport remained shut throughout the day in a show of solidarity, reinforcing that Pakistan’s Bajaur region is no longer willing to stay silent in the face of violence.
