Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly condemned recent attacks by the United States and Israel. He voiced his condemnation at the 17th BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, according to a report by Shafaq News.
He stated that these attacks not only violated Iran’s sovereignty but also posed a threat to global stability.
Araghchi revealed that more than 6,000 civilians have been killed or injured in the joint US-Israeli attacks. Numerous homes, nuclear facilities, and critical infrastructure have also been damaged.
The Iranian Foreign Minister claimed that the attacks on Iran’s civilian nuclear facilities violated international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He emphasized that, under UN Security Council Resolution 2231, these facilities are protected by international safeguards.

Araghchi asserted that the attack on Tehran was intended to divert attention from Israeli aggression in Gaza and the occupied Arab territories. He accused Israel of maintaining a culture of impunity with the support of its Western allies, thereby obstructing international accountability.
Speaking firmly, he said, “My people have always stood strong and committed to defending their homeland. It was through resistance that these attacks were halted.”
He further stated that Iran would respond with full force to any future aggression and would take international legal action against Israel’s alleged war crimes.
Calling upon the global community and multilateral organizations, Araghchi urged them to uphold international law and take a stand against impunity. He called on BRICS members to play a more active role in establishing peace and justice.
