What is Rahul’s Role in the Congress Party? Shashi Tharoor Questions

Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP, has caused some discomfort within the party. However, the party has not yet pursued any diplomatic actions against him. Tharoor’s work has not satisfied the Congress high command, and recently, he met with Rahul Gandhi, expressing dissatisfaction. Tharoor raised various issues and offered suggestions, but sources indicate that Rahul did not give them much importance, and the Congress did not show any politeness during the meeting. As a result, the relationship between Tharoor and Rahul Gandhi is believed to have soured.

The situation has reached a point where Tharoor directly asked Rahul Gandhi about his role in the Congress Party. He has asked to be clearly informed about what position he should hold within the party. According to sources, Tharoor expressed his dissatisfaction, claiming that he is being sidelined in the party. Despite his repeated victories as an MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor questioned Rahul Gandhi whether he should focus on state politics or continue to play a role in national politics. However, Rahul did not respond to these questions.

Meanwhile, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) is reportedly upset with Tharoor due to his stance on various issues, including his opposition to Congress’s position on Prime Minister Modi’s U.S. visit and his praise for Kerala’s Left government’s industrial development. These positions have created discomfort within the party. Additionally, Tharoor has expressed frustration over not being given opportunities in parliamentary debates, further fueling the tension between him and the party leadership.
