Vinicius’ ban not right, says Ancelotti

The Real Madrid coach stood beside Vinicius Junior, who received a two-match ban for a straight red card.
Real Madrid’s appeal did not work. Vinicius Junior, who saw a straight red card against Valencia, could not avoid the punishment of the ban. The young Brazilian forward has been banned for two matches. Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Europe’s most successful team, thinks that this punishment should not be given.

Vinicius hit Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dmitrievski in a La Liga match on Friday. The referee showed him a red card in the 79th minute after seeing a few replays on the VAR monitor. At that time, the Spanish champions, who were 1-0 behind, later won the match by 2-1 goals.

This punishment will only be effective in La Liga matches. So there is no obstacle to Vinicius playing in the Spanish Super Cup against Mallorca next Thursday. Ahead of the match, Real coach Ancelotti said in a press conference that they were happy with the young forward’s behavior on the field.

“When people say that Vinicius provokes [the opponent], they actually divert attention from the insult he endures. We all heard what happened on the field. It’s difficult for Vinicius. This ban is not correct… We are excited to have Vinicius in every way. ”

Vinicius won the FIFA World Player of the Year award last season for his biggest contribution to Real Madrid’s La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Super Cup victory. Earlier, the Ballon d’Or was second.
