UN Reports Delays in Aid Distribution Despite Entry into Gaza

May 21, 2025 — The United Nations has confirmed that humanitarian aid has entered *Gaza, but has yet to reach the *Palestinian population due to logistical and security challenges. Despite nearly 100 aid trucks crossing into the territory, UN officials report that new Israeli security procedures are preventing supplies from being distributed effectively.

UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that while aid has arrived at *warehouses and delivery points, it has not yet been distributed to those in need. The delay comes amid *mounting international pressure on Israel to ease restrictions, with concerns growing over widespread famine and the critical risk to thousands of malnourished children.

Israeli authorities insist that aid is being processed efficiently, but humanitarian organizations argue that the *current distribution system is inadequate. The *World Health Organization has warned that 14,000 babies could die within 48 hours if aid does not reach them soon.

Meanwhile, the UK and EU have taken diplomatic measures against Israel, with the UK suspending trade talks and the EU reviewing its free trade agreement due to the worsening humanitarian crisis.

As the situation unfolds, aid agencies continue to push for unrestricted access to ensure that life-saving supplies reach Palestinians in Gaza without further delay.
