U.S. Threatens to Change Iran’s Regime

Iran has rejected the possibility of nuclear negotiations.

U.S. President Donald Trump is prepared to take military action against Iran and may even threaten the country’s regime if necessary, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a recent interview.

During his first term, Trump unilaterally withdrew the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal and imposed strict sanctions on Tehran. In his second term, he has urged Iran to return to negotiations, setting a two-month deadline for a new agreement.

In a radio interview, Rubio stated that President Trump prioritizes diplomatic solutions. However, if Iran moves toward nuclear weapons capability, the U.S. will be forced to take action. “We have the capability, and we can go further to threaten Iran’s regime,” he added.

Previously, Trump confirmed that he sent a letter to Iranian leaders proposing talks, which was delivered through UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed. The letter is currently under review in Tehran.

However, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has dismissed the possibility of talks, calling the U.S. proposal an attempt at dominance. He also rejected Trump’s military threats.

Khamenei stated that since the U.S. itself withdrew from the agreement, blaming Iran is meaningless. Iran has repeatedly claimed that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful and that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons.
