Trump’s Inauguration: Who Are Attending, What Are The Events, Why So Much Changes?

Donald Trump is taking power for the second term as the President of the United States. His swearing-in ceremony will be held on Monday (January 20). However, this traditional ceremony of taking the oath of the new or re-elected president in the country every four years will be different this time. In the past few years, the swearing-in ceremony has been held on the West Lawn of Capitol Hill, but this year it will be held in the Capitol Rotunda. Due to inclement weather, the event has been moved indoors. Usually the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court administers the oath of office to the new President. John Roberts will read Trump’s oath for the second time.

After the swearing in, the new president will outline the plan for the next four years. JD Vance will also be sworn in as vice president on the same day. Outgoing President Joe Biden will attend the event. However, Trump was not at Biden’s swearing-in ceremony in 2020. Among the guests will be Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and all living former US presidents.

While there are concerns about the number of guests at events and events, the move to indoors may reduce attendance. The Capitol Rotunda has a capacity of about 600 people. Trump invited his supporters to watch the broadcast live at the Capital One Arena in Washington. Executive Orders Trump plans to sign several executive orders on his first day in office.
