Last year, there were protests in different countries of the world, including the United States, against the Israeli occupation of Gaza in Palestine. From students to ordinary people, more or less everyone participated in the movement against the Israeli attack on Gaza. There were especially large protests in US universities and colleges.
According to Qatar-based media Al Jazeera, the Trump administration will send back foreign students who joined protests in favor of Palestinians in the United States. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday.
According to the executive order, the federal government will be able to take steps to severely punish those who make terrorist threats, arson, vandalism and violence against American Jews. In the meantime, President Trump has instructed the Department of Justice to take immediate action against them.
In a fact sheet to expatriates and foreign students, Trump said, “Those of you who joined the jihadist movement, we have kept you under surveillance.” We will find you and send you back to your country. Visas for all foreign students who show sympathy for Hamas on campuses will be revoked immediately. ’
Meanwhile, pro-Palestinian activists have criticized the combination of criticism of Israel and anti-Semitism. They see this move of the Trump administration as a strategy to silence the protesters in favor of an independent Palestine.
