U.S. President Donald Trump is in “robust physical and mental health,” according to the White House physician. During his latest medical check-up, Trump scored full marks on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a test used to evaluate memory, attention, language, and thinking skills.
The report, published by the BBC, states that while Trump has a history of some skin conditions and past health issues, they are all currently under control. His weight has decreased slightly, placing him in the “overweight” category, though he is no longer classified as obese.
The annual health check-up for his second presidential term was conducted last Friday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, D.C. According to Dr. Sean Barbabella, a seasoned emergency medicine physician with the U.S. Navy, Trump’s heart, lungs, nervous system, and other vital organs are functioning normally.
The doctor also addressed a past incident from July last year when Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. A bullet grazed his right ear, leaving a mark that still remains, though it has not affected his overall health or physical abilities.
“President Trump’s health is excellent, with strong cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and general physical function,” Dr. Barbabella stated in a memorandum.
Trump, now 78, assumed office this January, making him the oldest U.S. president to take office. His predecessor, Joe Biden, was 82 years old when he left the presidency.
The nearly five-hour-long health examination included blood tests, cardiac ultrasound, neurological assessments, and reflex tests. The report confirmed there were no signs of depression or anxiety. Minor sun-related skin damage and benign skin lesions were noted but deemed non-threatening.
Trump takes a few regular medications for cholesterol control, skincare, and heart health. His medical history includes a past COVID-19 infection, rosacea (a skin condition), and previously removed benign colon polyps.
According to the report, Trump currently weighs 101 kg (224 pounds) and stands 6 feet 2.5 inches tall. In 2019, he weighed 243 pounds, indicating a slight weight loss. His body mass index (BMI) places him in the “overweight” range.
The doctor confirmed that Trump’s bones and muscles are fully functional and that he remains physically active, especially enjoying golf on a regular basis.
