Trump Enforces Ban on Biological Men in Sports

In a significant policy shift, President Donald Trump has officially banned biological men from competing in women’s sports. Announcing the decision, Trump stated, “I’ve made it the official policy of the United States that there are only two genders: Male and Female. And we will have no men participating in women’s sports.”

This executive order, signed on January 22, 2025, mandates that federal agencies recognize only two sexes, male and female, and prohibits the participation of individuals assigned male at birth in women’s sports programs. The move aims to protect women’s rights and ensure fair competition in sports, according to the administration.

The policy has sparked widespread debate, with supporters praising the emphasis on biological distinctions and critics arguing that it undermines the rights of transgender individuals. As the new regulations take effect, the impact on sports and the broader societal implications remain to be seen.
