Several of Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and appointees were subjected to violent threats, including bomb threats and “swatting,” according to a statement released on November 27 by Trump’s spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt.
The threats, which occurred on the night of November 26 and the morning of November 27, prompted swift action from law enforcement to ensure the safety of those targeted. Leavitt did not specify which individuals were affected or provide further details on the nature of the threats.
Authorities, including the FBI and the Justice Department, have yet to respond to requests for comment. The threats reportedly ranged from bomb warnings to swatting incidents, where false crime reports are made to trigger heavily armed police responses at the victims’ homes.
