Tragedy in China: Stabbing Spree in Wuxi Leaves 8 Dead, 17 Injured

A 21-year-old former student carried out a deadly stabbing spree at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Jiangsu province, China, killing eight people and injuring 17 on Saturday evening, according to police reports.

The suspect, who failed to graduate this year due to poor academic performance, reportedly returned to the school to “express his anger” through this violent act. Authorities confirmed the suspect has been apprehended and has confessed to the crime. Emergency services in Yixing, a city near Wuxi, were mobilized to treat the injured and provide assistance to those affected.

A Week of Violence in China

This attack comes on the heels of another tragedy in Zhuhai, where a 62-year-old driver, dissatisfied over a property dispute following his divorce, drove his car into a crowd, killing 35 people and injuring 43.

Ongoing Investigations and Support Efforts

Authorities have launched investigations into both incidents, aiming to uncover underlying causes. Meanwhile, emergency responders and support services remain fully engaged in assisting the victims and their families.

These back-to-back incidents have shocked the nation, prompting calls for strengthened measures to ensure public safety and mental health support.
