He also reflected on the long journey to making Top Gun: Maverick, noting, “It took me 35 years to figure out Top Gun: Maverick, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick”.
While Cruise did not confirm a production timeline, his comments suggest that the sequel is in early development. Fans of the franchise can expect more high-flying action and emotional storytelling as the team explores new directions for Maverick and his fellow pilots.
