Sources close to the production of Disney’s Snow White live-action remake have revealed growing tension between costars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on March 21, 2025.
According to reports, the two actresses, who portray Snow White and the Evil Queen, have little in common, with a significant age gap and differing political views exacerbating the situation. Zegler, 23, and Gadot, 39, are said to have a strained dynamic on set, with sources claiming they “have nothing in common.”
The political differences between the two have also played a part in the tension. Zegler, an outspoken advocate for Palestine, has used her platform to express support for the Palestinian cause, while Gadot, an Israeli-born actress who served in the Israel Defense Forces, has been vocal about supporting Israel in the ongoing Gaza conflict. This divide has reportedly contributed to their strained relationship.
A source familiar with the situation told PEOPLE, “Gal is annoyed by the movie drama,” adding that while the two actresses worked together professionally, they are not friends. The source continued, “They did a job together, and that’s it.”
Despite these reported tensions, both stars have continued to promote the film at various events, including Disney’s D23 Expo in 2022 and the recent Academy Awards. However, Gadot did not attend the Snow White European premiere in Spain on March 12, with sources clarifying that it was never planned for her to be there. Instead, she focused on press activities in New York.
As the movie’s Los Angeles premiere approaches, both Zegler and Gadot are expected to attend, though sources insist that their professional relationship remains cordial, despite personal differences.
