Temperature Drops Below Freezing in Turaif, Saudi Arabia

The lowest temperature has been recorded in Turaif, a northern border area of Saudi Arabia. The country’s National Center for Meteorology (NCM) reported that the temperature there has dropped to minus two degrees Celsius.

Similar weather conditions may persist in Saudi Arabia for the next few days. The forecast also suggests the possibility of snowfall along with severe cold.

In a statement, the NCM mentioned that the impact of intense cold winds will continue in Turaif. The minimum temperature is expected to range between zero and minus three degrees Celsius.

Such extreme cold is unusual in Saudi Arabia. However, on Monday morning (February 10), traces of frost were observed on tree leaves.

Residents of the region have been urged to take necessary precautions against the harsh weather.

The NCM has also warned that dense fog may further reduce visibility, especially in the southern areas of the Eastern Province.
