Following news of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour grossing over $2 billion, it’s now being reported that the pop superstar distributed $197 million of that earnings to her tour crew in the form of bonuses, in addition to their regular pay, according to People magazine.
This remarkable $197 million payout represents nearly 10% of the total tour revenue, directly benefiting the hardworking team members behind the scenes.
The report states that every person involved in the Eras Tour received part of this bonus, including truck drivers, caterers, instrument technicians, merchandisers, lighting and sound crews, production staff, carpenters, dancers, security personnel, choreographers, pyrotechnics experts, riggers, hair and makeup artists, wardrobe assistants, physical therapists, and the video team.
This isn’t the first time Swift’s generous bonuses have made headlines. In August 2023, after completing the first leg of the U.S. tour, it was reported that she gave out $55 million in bonuses.
The 149-date stadium tour wrapped up in Vancouver, B.C. on Sunday. At the final show, Swift made a point of publicly expressing her gratitude to her team, sharing a heartfelt group hug during the “Karma” outro and offering individual hugs to her dancers and backup singers.
Swift’s commercial success continues beyond the conclusion of the Eras Tour. Her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which has dominated 2024, recently reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, largely due to the release of physical copies of the “Anthology” deluxe edition during the Black Friday weekend. Additionally, her “Eras Tour” book came close to breaking a one-week sales record, moving over 800,000 copies in its first week in Target stores.
