Sydney Sweeney Claps Back at Trolls with Intense Training Video

Sydney Sweeney recently took a powerful stand against online trolls in an Instagram post on Friday. The video began by showing cruel comments about her appearance, such as calling her “quite frumpy” and claiming she “has a horrible body.” These comments, likely a reaction to paparazzi photos of Sweeney lounging by her pool in Florida, were set to the song Natural High by Bloodstone. Then, the tone of the video shifted dramatically, transitioning into an intense training montage of Sweeney lifting weights, boxing, and flipping tires, accompanied by Joey Valence and Brae’s song OK. The final frame of the video revealed the name “Christy Martin” in sparkling pink letters, teasing her upcoming biopic about the legendary boxer.

Sweeney has been working hard on her portrayal of Christy Martin, a trailblazer in women’s boxing. She has shared several updates on the project, including one in October that showed her transformation with biceps and a brunette wig. In November, she posted a picture with Martin, expressing her excitement for the film and its empowering message of resilience. The biopic, which showcases Martin’s legendary career, is something Sweeney is especially passionate about, and she teased fans with the promise of her “kicking some serious ass” in the role.

Sweeney’s post also received support from co-stars Celeste O’Connor and Isabela Merced, who praised her for her dedication to her craft and for standing up to online negativity. O’Connor described the video as “SO baller,” while Merced emphasized that those who criticize online would never say it to Sweeney in person, humorously adding, “best believe it’s hands.”

This powerful response from Sweeney highlights both her physical and mental preparation for roles, especially in the case of the Christy Martin biopic, where she’s clearly committed to portraying strength—both on-screen and in the face of criticism.
