NEW YORK, The man suspected of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan on Wednesday morning arrived in New York City last month on a Greyhound bus from Atlanta, law enforcement sources confirmed. The suspect boarded the bus the day before Thanksgiving, traveling from Atlanta to the city, where he carried out the shooting outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown before 7 a.m.
According to sources within the New York Police Department, the shooter used a fake ID to check into a hostel in the city, paying in cash. The AYH Hostel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side was searched by police on Thursday, though it is unclear if the hostel is directly tied to the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are still actively searching for the suspect, who remains at large following the execution-style killing of Thompson, a prominent figure in the healthcare industry.
