The Super Bowl 2025 has set a new record, achieving its largest audience ever for the second consecutive year. An average of 126 million viewers tuned in to watch the Philadelphia Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9. This marks a 2% increase over last year’s viewership, which was already the highest in Super Bowl history, according to Nielsen data.
This year’s total viewership includes audiences across multiple platforms, such as Fox, Fox Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo, and NFL digital properties. Last year’s 123.7 million viewers were measured across CBS, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports, and NFL digital platforms.
Viewership peaked during the second quarter of the game, with 135.7 million viewers between 8 and 8:15 p.m. ET, according to Fox. Streaming also saw a record high, with 13.6 million viewers watching via Tubi, and nearly a million using NFL+ and other NFL platforms.
Aside from the game, the highly anticipated halftime show, headlined by Kendrick Lamar, also drew massive attention. Lamar performed his Grammy-winning track “Not Like Us” and brought out several celebrity guests, including SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard.
As always, the Super Bowl featured a range of celebrity-filled advertisements. Among the most-watched on YouTube were a Booking.com ad with the Muppets, a Goldilocks-themed Ram Trucks commercial starring Glen Powell, and an ad for the Google Pixel 9.
