Strong Bayern Take Top Spot After Fourth Straight Win

The record Bundesliga champions won 3-2 at home against Wolfsburg.

Bayern Munich dominated the attack throughout the match at home. Despite their dominance, Wolfsburg scored two goals. But in the end, the team of Vincent Company left the field with a great victory. They strengthened the top position in the Bundesliga. Bayern won Saturday’s league match 3-2 at the Allianz Arena. Leyon Goretska scored a brace for the hosts, the other Olisse. And Mohamed Amora scored both goals of Wolfsburg. With this, Bayern won 4 consecutive matches in the league. With 14 wins and 3 draws in 18 matches and 45 points, they took another step forward in their campaign to regain the title. Bayer Leverkusen is the second title holder with 38 points after playing one match less.

Wolfsburg is in seventh place with 27 points in 18 matches. From the beginning of the match, Bayern started spreading fear in the opposing camp. In the third minute, Leroy Sun’s shot from outside the box hit the goal post.

They got a great chance in the seventh minute. Kingsley Coman entered the box after Harry Kane’s through pass. He could not send the ball into the net despite getting the goalkeeper alone. Wolfsburg’s goalkeeper blocked the French forward’s low shot. However, it was not too late for Bayern to see the goal. Goretska cheered the team in the 19th minute. The German midfielder received a pass from a teammate and fired a powerful shot from outside the box into the far post. Wolfsburg didn’t take too long to equalize. In the 24th minute, Amora got the ball in the box from a free kick passed by a teammate. The Algerian striker found the net, beating Manuel Neuer with a coolly perfect shot.

After a while, Bayern went ahead again. In the 39th minute, Olise scored the goal with a left foot shot from outside the box. The ball hits the goalkeeper’s hand and goes into the net. In the 42nd minute, Kane could not use the ball in the box due to the opponent’s wrong pass. Due to a little delay, his shot eventually hit the legs of the advancing defender and went wide. Joshua Kimmich scored another goal in the third minute of added time. But VAR disallowed his goal for handball. Kimmich got his hands on the ball when he headed in Koman’s cross. Bayern ended the first half with a 2-1 lead.
Bayern continued to attack in the second half. In the 50th minute, Sane could not get a header from Koman’s cross. Goretska doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. He scored his second goal of the match with a header from Ollis’ excellent free kick. It was his third goal in the league this season, fourth in all competitions. Eight minutes later Coman squandered a golden opportunity. He got the ball in front of the opponent’s d-box. The goalkeeper was alone but could not put a shot on target. Amora narrowed the gap with two minutes left of the allotted time. He scored his second goal with a perfect finish after catching a teammate’s pass into the box.
