‘Squid Game’ Player 456 Returns in Season 2 Trailer

The new season of Squid Game is almost here, and Player 456, Seong Gi-hun, is back! He won the first season, but now he wants to end the deadly game for good.

In the official trailer that was released on Tuesday, Player 456, played by Lee Jung-jae, says, “I’m trying to put an end to this game.” In the new season, there’s a big question: will other players choose to stop the game and end the fight for a huge cash prize? This is a big part of the story in season two, which will be released on December 26.

Netflix describes the second season like this: “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 decided not to go to the United States. Instead, he returns with a new goal. Gi-hun gets back into the game and starts another life-or-death battle with new players. The prize is 45.6 billion won.”

In season two, Player 456 will face off against the Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun. Other returning actors include Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo. New cast members are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

Squid Game is Netflix’s most popular show ever. The creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has also said that a third and final season will be released in 2025.
