Ancelotti sees Modric as ‘gift for football’

The Real Madrid coach praised the 39-year-old’s performance against Deportiva Minera.

He is 39 years old. However, Luka Modric is still very bright in the football arena by showing the thumb of age. He has seen the goal in the second match in Real Madrid’s jersey. Coach Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with his performance against Deportiva Minera. He described the Croat midfielder as “a gift to football”.

Real Madrid won the last 32 match of the Copa del Rey 5-0 against the fourth-tier team in Spanish football on Monday. Modric scored the team’s fourth goal in the second half.

This has ended a long wait. It was his first goal in 30 matches in Spain’s second-best competition.

He has been in the starting XI in 11 of the 27 matches in all competitions for the club this season.

Ancelotti praised him at the press conference after the match. The experienced Italian coach is impressed with his influence and professionalism on the field despite having the opportunity to play for less time.

“[Modric] is a gift for football and even more for those who can enjoy the game up close. The fans, the players, the coaches… To me, that’s a great gift.
