The 2024 Ballon d’Or gala delivered a surprising twist. While most predictions leaned toward Vinicius Jr. as the world’s best player, it was Spanish midfielder Rodri who took home the prestigious award.
Spain and Manchester City midfielder #Rodri won the Ballon d’Or award for the best player in the world, beating Brazil’s Vinicius Jr and England’s Jude Bellingham, both of Real Madrid, to the prestigious prize.With this win, Rodri becomes only the second Spanish player to receive the Ballon d’Or, following Luis Suárez Miramontes’ victory in 1960.
Rodri, a first-time award winner, helped his team win an unprecedented fourth successive Premier League trophy last season.
