Selena Gomez’s Movie Ties Record for BAFTA Award

Selena Gomez’s Netflix movie Emilia Pérez is doing very well in the 2025 BAFTA Awards. The movie has earned 15 nominations.

The film is about a woman, played by Karla Sofía Gascón, who is a drug lord. She asks a lawyer, played by Zoe Saldaña, to help her escape and start a new life as a woman.

Although this is not the final list of nominees, it is important because it matches the number of nominations that All Quiet on the Western Front and Oppenheimer got in 2022 and 2023. Both of those films later won Best Film.

Other movies with 15 nominations include Barbie and Killers of the Flower Moon from last year.

Emilia Pérez is in categories like Best Film and Best Director for Jacques Audiard. Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldaña, and Adriana Paz are nominated for Best Supporting Actress, and Karla Sofía Gascón is nominated for Best Leading Actress.

Other movies with many nominations include Conclave (14 nominations), The Substance, The Brutalist, and A Complete Unknown (11 nominations each). Big movies like Dune: Part Two and Wicked have 10 nominations.

The BAFTA Awards ceremony will be held on February 16, 2025, and David Tennant will return as the host.

Before that, the Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5, where Emilia Pérez has the most nominations.

The 2025 BAFTA Awards will be shown live on BBC One and iPlayer.
