Samantha Morton Joins Star-Studded Cast of Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Academy Award-nominated actress Samantha Morton has been added to the already impressive ensemble cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film ‌‘The Odyssey’. Based on the epic poem by Homer, the movie is set to bring the mythic tale to life on the big screen using cutting-edge IMAX technology.

Morton, known for her standout performances in ‘In America’ and ‘Sweet and Lowdown’, is no stranger to powerful roles. Recently, she has been captivating audiences as Catherine de’ Medici in the Starz series ‘The Serpent Queen’. Her addition to ‘The Odyssey’ adds even more star power to the film, which already includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and Benny Safdie.

The film’s studio, Universal, remains tight-lipped on specific plot details, but they’ve described ‘The Odyssey’ as a “mythic action epic” that will take viewers on a globe-trotting journey. It is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.

Samantha Morton’s previous work in both film and television showcases her versatility as an actress, and fans can expect another compelling performance from her in Nolan’s ambitious adaptation.

The film’s cast also includes Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, and others, with a powerful lineup that guarantees ‘The Odyssey’ will be one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
