Following accusations in the blackbuck poaching case, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has found himself facing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In this context, Indian farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has suggested that Salman should atone for his actions and even seek forgiveness at a temple.
Tikait stated, “Salman Khan should immediately go to a temple and ask for forgiveness in front of God. One can’t say when that jailed individual (Lawrence Bishnoi) might decide to take his life.”
He further mentioned that since Bishnoi is considered a notorious figure, Salman should also seek forgiveness from the Bishnoi community, who regard the blackbuck as sacred.
Salman was accused of killing a blackbuck in a village in Rajasthan in 1998, and the Bishnoi community has harbored anger towards him since, leading to legal troubles that have spanned 26 years. He was arrested but later released on bail.
In recent years, Salman has received multiple death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Since 2022, he has faced several threats to his life, and earlier this year, there was gunfire outside his residence in Mumbai.
Additionally, Salman’s friend and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui was recently murdered, with several members of the Bishnoi gang arrested in connection with the crime. As a precaution, Salman Khan’s security has been significantly increased.
Salman’s father, renowned screenwriter Salim Khan, has maintained his son’s innocence, asserting that Salman was not in the vehicle at the time of the blackbuck incident. Following this claim, segments of the Bishnoi community have expressed renewed anger, reportedly burning effigies of Salman and Salim Khan, as reported by Hindustan Times.
