Real Madrid in the Knockout Stage of the Champions League, Who is in Danger and Who is Left Out

The new structure of the Champions League. The 36-team league stage. Each team will play eight matches. The top 24 teams in the points table will go to the knockout stage. Their first eight will get direct chances in the last sixteen. Eight of these 16 teams, from ninth to 24th, will join the last sixteen after the play-offs.

All teams have played seven matches. Among them, Liverpool and Barcelona have confirmed the last sixteen matches directly. Until Tuesday, the knockout phase was confirmed by 11 teams, including Liverpool-Barcelona. Seven other teams, including the current champion Real Madrid, have confirmed at least the play-off stage last night.

On the other hand, Manchester City is in danger. Pep Guardiola’s team has gone out of the top 24 after losing to PSG. Despite losing to City, PSG has not yet confirmed the play-offs.

The last round of the league stage will be played on January 30.
