Randhir Jaiswal Posts India’s Official Statement  Regarding Arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh

India Expresses Concern Over Arrest of Hindu Leader in Bangladesh, Calls for Minority Safety

The Ministry of External Affairs of India, through its spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, issued a strong statement on Tuesday expressing concern over the arrest and denial of bail to Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagran Jote.

The statement highlights a pattern of attacks against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh by extremist elements. Documented incidents include arson, looting, vandalism, and desecration of temples and deities, which have targeted minority homes and businesses.

India criticized the Bangladeshi authorities for prioritizing charges against a religious leader involved in peaceful protests while perpetrators of violent incidents remain at large. The statement also condemned the reported targeting of minorities protesting peacefully against the arrest of Shri Das.

The Indian government urged Bangladesh to ensure the safety and security of Hindus and other minorities, emphasizing their right to freedom of peaceful assembly and expression. The statement underscores India’s expectation of proactive measures by Dhaka to protect minority communities and uphold their rights.

This development adds to ongoing concerns about the safety of minority communities in Bangladesh and their treatment under the current regim.
