Putin Declares Russia’s Ambition to Lead the World in Artificial Intelligence

MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated his country’s determination to become a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing the transformative potential and strategic importance of the technology.

“Artificial intelligence is the future, not only for Russia but for all humankind,” Putin stated, according to RT. “It comes with colossal opportunities but also threats that are difficult to predict. Whoever becomes the leader in this sphere will become the ruler of the world.”

The statement underscores Russia’s commitment to advancing its AI capabilities as part of its broader technological ambitions. Moscow has also strengthened collaborations within the BRICS coalition—comprising Brazil, China, India, South Africa, and Russia—to jointly develop AI technologies and challenge U.S. dominance in the field.

Analysts view Putin’s vision as a reflection of the growing global competition in artificial intelligence, with countries vying for leadership in what is widely considered a cornerstone of future economic and military power.
