Priyanka Chopra Jonas is returning to the comedy spotlight with her latest role in an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film directed by Nicholas Stoller.
Chopra Jonas has officially joined the star-studded cast of the untitled comedy alongside Michael Peña, joining previously announced leads Will Ferrell and Zac Efron. The project, once titled Judgment Day, centers on a recently released convict (Efron) who takes a TV courtroom hostage, blaming the show’s judge (Ferrell) for ruining his life.
While details about Chopra Jonas’ character remain under wraps, her addition adds even more star power to the high-profile ensemble, which also includes Regina Hall, Jimmy Tatro, and Billy Eichner. The film reunites Stoller with Amazon MGM following You’re Cordially Invited, which also starred Ferrell.
Ferrell is producing the film through Gloria Sanchez Productions alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown, with Stoller also producing via his Stoller Global Solutions banner.
Chopra Jonas continues to strengthen her relationship with Amazon MGM. Her upcoming projects with the studio include The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers, and the action-comedy Heads of State, where she stars opposite John Cena and Idris Elba. She also headlined the global spy series Citadel for the streamer. Through her company Purple Pebble Pictures, Chopra Jonas holds a first-look deal for film and TV with Amazon MGM.
With her latest casting, Chopra Jonas adds another exciting title to her growing Hollywood slate, continuing her crossover momentum with a mix of high-profile, genre-spanning roles.
