Parker Posey Joins Martin McDonagh’s Upcoming Film

Hollywood veteran Parker Posey has officially joined the cast of Martin McDonagh’s highly anticipated new film, Wild Horse Nine. This marks yet another exciting collaboration for Posey, who is also set to appear in the upcoming season of The White Lotus.

Posey will star alongside previously announced Sam Rockwell, who won an Oscar for his performance in McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). The film will also feature John Malkovich and Mark Ruffalo, further adding star power to the ensemble.

McDonagh is reuniting with Searchlight Pictures, Blueprint Pictures, and Film4, the same teams that brought The Banshees of Inisherin to the screen in 2022. That film earned nine Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and nominations for McDonagh’s direction and screenplay. Wild Horse Nine is expected to bring McDonagh’s signature dark humor to a new project, though details about the plot are being kept tightly under wraps.

The film will begin production next month in Rapa Nui (Easter Island), a Chilean wildlife area known for its stunning cultural landscape and remoteness. The film’s producers include Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, and Anita Overland.

Posey has recently enjoyed a busy year, appearing on The White Lotus and receiving an Emmy nomination for her guest role in Amazon’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith series. She also starred in the indie film Thelma and Ari Aster’s Beau is Afraid, alongside Joaquin Phoenix. On stage, Posey starred in the off-Broadway production of The Seagull/Woodstock, NY.

As McDonagh’s new project takes shape, fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on the plot and additional cast members.
