Panamanian Dictator Noriega Hid as A Girl To Escape the US

After the election of the new US President Donald Trump for a second term, even after being sworn in, he repeatedly talked about taking control of the Panama Canal. He also did not rule out the use of force if necessary. Due to his words, the name of former Panamanian dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega is coming up again in the discussion. He was captured by the United States in Panama.

Panamanian dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega, once close to the US intelligence and dictator of Panama, showed courage by declaring war on the United States. However, after the start of the US operation, he took refuge in the Vatican’s embassy out of fear. She hid in the embassy to avoid being caught.

Noriega’s name has been in the spotlight again after US President Donald Trump spoke about control of the Panama Canal. George H.W. Bush ordered an operation against Noriega.

According to Reuters, former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega has long been used as a tool of the United States. However, his cruel rule, the then US President George H.W. Bush became impatient with drug dealing. He sent 28,000 U.S. troops to overthrow Noriega and take control of Panama. At one point, Noriega was captured in a military operation and taken to the United States.

Noriega died in 2017 at the age of 83. He was picked up by U.S. troops in January 1990. Earlier, US forces conducted a special operation to catch him for two weeks. Since then, he has spent his life in prisons in the United States, France and Panama. He has been charged with murder and drug dealing.
