Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has been hospitalized due to a deterioration in his health. According to local news reports on Wednesday, President Zardari is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi.
According to a report by the Pakistani daily The Express Tribune, the 69-year-old president was transferred to the hospital from Nawabshah, approximately 300 kilometers from Karachi. He had been suffering from fever for several days, and an infection was detected in his body.
Upon admission, several medical tests were conducted, and doctors are closely monitoring his condition. Local media reports indicate that on Monday, Zardari traveled to Nawabshah to attend Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Prior to that, on Sunday, he also held meetings with party leaders.
Meanwhile, Sindh Province’s senior minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, spoke to the media on Wednesday about President Zardari’s health. He confirmed that the president’s condition is improving.
In a message on social media platform X, he dismissed rumors that Zardari was being taken to Dubai for treatment, stating that the president’s health is improving and the reports of his transfer to Dubai are false. He assured that President Zardari will recover soon.
According to The Express Tribune, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called President Zardari to inquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. During the call, the prime minister said, “The whole nation is praying for you. May the Almighty grant you a quick recovery.”
