Pakistani Mahira Khan Responds to Criticism Over Shah Rukh Khan

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who starred with Shah Rukh Khan in the 2017 movie Raees, has responded again to online critics. She is often open about her admiration for Shah Rukh in interviews, but this sometimes leads people to accuse her of using his name for attention.

At the 2024 Aalami Urdu Conference in Karachi, Mahira confidently addressed these critics. She said she is often asked about her experience working with Shah Rukh, and she never gets tired of talking about it.

She explained, “If someone asks me, I answer. But then people think I’m talking about him on my own. I never do that.” She added, “I wish people wouldn’t ask about him, then I wouldn’t have to talk about it.”

Mahira and Shah Rukh’s pairing in Raees was loved by audiences. Their chemistry, especially in the song Zaalima, was a big hit.

In a conversation with casting director Mukesh Chhabra on YouTube, Raees director Rahul Dholakia shared that actresses like Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma were originally considered for the role. But Mahira was cast because she happened to be in Mumbai at the time.
