Pakistani Ambassador to Turkmenistan, KK Agha, was denied entry into the United States despite having a valid visa and necessary travel documents. According to Pakistani media outlet The News, he traveled to Los Angeles on a personal visit but was stopped by U.S. immigration officials upon arrival.
The officials reportedly raised concerns about a “controversial visa reference” and questioned his diplomatic protocol. However, the exact reason for his denial of entry remains unclear. Following the interrogation, immigration authorities instructed him to return to his point of departure immediately.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior officials have been informed of the incident. Reports indicate that KK Agha may be summoned to Islamabad to provide details.
According to Geo TV, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that KK Agha’s visit was personal and that a thorough investigation into the matter is underway.
Speculation is rising that the U.S. may soon impose restrictions on Pakistani and Afghan nationals entering the country. The timing of this incident, just before such potential measures, has caused embarrassment for Islamabad. KK Agha is an experienced diplomat who has previously represented Pakistan in multiple countries.
