Paddington 4 Faces Uncertain Future

Fans of the beloved Paddington bear franchise have received some disappointing news regarding the future of Paddington 4.

Producer Rosie Alison recently shared that a fourth film is not yet guaranteed, despite earlier announcements suggesting it was already in development. The third installment, Paddington in Peru, which premiered in November 2024, had a successful opening weekend, becoming the best-performing film in the franchise. However, Alison stated that the decision on a fourth movie depends on how well Paddington 3 performs at the global box office.

Back in September, a Studiocanal executive mentioned that a fourth film was planned to coincide with Paddington’s 70th anniversary. But Alison clarified that this announcement was “premature” and emphasized that the future of Paddington 4 depends on the movie’s reception, particularly in the U.S., Australia, and Europe, where it will be released in early 2025.

Alison expressed her hope that Paddington 3 performs well, mentioning that there are hints of what might happen next in the film’s ending. She explained her deep connection to the franchise, particularly the themes of being lost, reunited, and bridging the gap between two homes.

Fans will have to wait and see how the film does before knowing if Paddington’s adventure continues with a fourth installment.
