Orban Invites Netanyahu to Hungary as ICC Arrest Warrant Divides Europe

Budapest: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban extended an invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday, ensuring him safe passage in Hungary despite the recent International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued for alleged war crimes in Gaza. Meanwhile, several European nations stated they would detain Netanyahu if he entered their territories, reflecting the sharp divisions across Europe over the ICC ruling.

ICC Warrants for Gaza Conflict

On Thursday, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu, former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Ibrahim Al-Masri. The warrants accuse them of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Gaza conflict. The decision has prompted mixed reactions worldwide, drawing condemnation from Israeli officials and the White House.
