Shortly after India’s launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’—a series of precision strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir—National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to brief him on the operation.
According to a statement from the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C., Doval emphasized that the strikes were “focused and precise,” targeting only known terror camps. He assured that no Pakistani civilian, economic, or military facilities were affected, underscoring India’s intent to conduct a measured and non-escalatory response.
The operation was carried out in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians were killed. India presented credible evidence, including technical inputs and survivor testimonies, pointing to the involvement of Pakistan-based terrorists.
In addition to briefing the U.S., Indian officials have also communicated with counterparts in the UK, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Russia to explain the rationale behind the strikes.
U.S. President Donald Trump, upon being informed of the developments, expressed hope for a swift de-escalation, stating, “It’s a shame… I hope it ends very quickly.”
The Indian Ministry of Defence has scheduled a press briefing at 10:00 AM IST today to provide further details on ‘Operation Sindoor
