Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to India over the recent deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people. He condemned the incident as a “brutal crime” and stated that such acts can have no justification.
In a message sent on Tuesday evening to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Putin wrote, “We hope that the planners and perpetrators of this attack will receive the punishment they deserve.”
Most of the victims in the attack were both domestic and international tourists, and many others were injured.
Putin further stated that Russia remains committed to strengthening cooperation with India in combating all forms and manifestations of terrorism. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
