Netflix Hits 301 Million Subscribers with Record Q4 Growth

Netflix has exceeded expectations by adding nearly 19 million subscribers in Q4 of 2024, bringing its global total to 301.63 million. This marks a 15.9% year-over-year increase and sets a new record for the streaming giant.

The company’s Q4 performance was driven by hits like Squid Game Season 2, Carry-On, and the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, which became the most-streamed sporting event in Netflix history. The company also saw significant growth across regions, with notable gains of 4.82 million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada, 5 million in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and 4.94 million in the Asia-Pacific region.

While Netflix will no longer provide quarterly subscriber data in the future, the company announced plans to focus on further improving its content offerings and expanding its advertising and gaming businesses in 2025.

Additionally, Netflix’s upcoming releases include final seasons of Stranger Things and Squid Game, as well as the return of Wednesday in 2025. The company also announced plans to continue enhancing its video game strategy, offering more narrative-based games based on its original content.

The streaming giant remains on track for healthy growth, forecasting $43.5 to $44.5 billion in revenue for 2025.
