Netanyahu Slams ICC Arrest Warrant as ‘absurd’ Amid Gaza War Crime Allegations

The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes during Israel’s Gaza campaign. The ICC alleges they knowingly deprived Gaza’s civilian population of essentials such as food, water, and medical supplies.

Netanyahu’s office denounced the ruling as “absurd,” “anti-Semitic,” and politically driven, asserting Israel will not yield to pressure. Gallant previously ordered a “complete siege” on Gaza following the October 2023 Hamas attack that killed 1,200 Israelis and resulted in over 250 hostages being taken. The ongoing conflict has reportedly left over 40,000 dead in Gaza, according to Hamas-led authorities, though these figures remain unverified.
