February 21, 2025 – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a large-scale military operation in the West Bank following a series of explosions in Tel Aviv. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, involved three empty buses that were targeted in the Bat Yam and Holon areas near the city.
The Israeli government described the blasts as an attempted “mass attack” and announced intensified military actions against what they term “terrorist hideouts” in the West Bank. The Israeli army has already increased security measures, blocking access to certain areas.
For over a month, Israeli forces have been conducting large-scale military operations in the West Bank, claiming they are targeting militant groups. However, these actions have led to the destruction of Palestinian homes and infrastructure, forcing thousands to flee to refugee camps.
In the past two years, Netanyahu’s government has launched military operations in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, justifying them as counterterrorism and self-defense measures. Western allies have largely supported these actions.
The recent bus explosions have heightened security concerns across Israel, prompting authorities to temporarily halt bus, train, and light rail services to conduct security sweeps. Bomb squads managed to neutralize additional explosive devices before they detonated.
The Israeli police are currently investigating the incident and searching for suspects, hoping to prevent further attacks.
