Netanyahu Heads to the United States for High-Stakes Meeting with President Trump

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is traveling to the United States to meet with Donald Trump. According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, he will make this visit on February 4.

According to the source, citing White House sources, Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to visit during Trump’s second term. The exact date has not been set yet, but the visit is expected to take place early next week.

Recently, Trump also told reporters that the Israeli Prime Minister would visit Washington very soon to meet with him.

Earlier, on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump claimed that the Hamas-Israel ceasefire and prisoner exchange were only possible because he won the November presidential election.

Additionally, last week, the newly elected U.S. president described Gaza as an uninhabitable wasteland and stated that Egypt and Jordan should take in more Palestinian refugees. However, both countries and the Palestinians later rejected his suggestion.
According to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry, more than 47,000 Palestinians were killed from the start of the war until the ceasefire took effect on January 19, with the majority being women and children.
